Mercer is seeking candidates for the following position based in the London, Birmingham or Manchester office:

Pensions Communications Consultant

What can you expect?

  • You will join a highly creative employee communications agency within Mercer known as Impact. ht
  • Focusing on pension communications, your role will involve the delivery of client communication strategies from the point of the initial contact through to final evaluation. Being a great listener, you will identify communication requirements for the engagement of the pension scheme members and work collaboratively to create the necessary content.
  • You will build and maintain internal and client relationships, produce and manage all client communication collateral on time and to budget.
  • Being part of a team of 6 pensions commumnications specialists, with a strong collaborative culture and fantastic team spirit
  • The opportunity to utilise your initiative and passion for writing by designing content for our clients' pension members
  • Get involved in a number of projects in and outside of pensions allowing you to add to your knowledge and provide you with a varied workload
  • The opportunity to attend Trustee meetings

We will rely on you to:

  • Review, curate and edit all communication collateral – letters, leaflets, articles, videos, presentations and any other material
  • Support with the development of strategic communication plans and initiate ideas to meet client's requirements
  • Identify communication requirements for the engagement of the pension scheme members
  • Create strong, on-going (internal and external) client relationships becoming their trusted partner for pension scheme communications
  • Identify and follow up on new opportunities with contacts in the Wealth business
  • Responsible for keeping trustee newsletter articles up to date and peer reviewed
  • Suggest initiatives to increase efficiency amongst the team
  • Support with new business proposals and pitches as required

What you need to have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of Pensions Communications within DB or DC UK pensions
  • A passion for writing and highly developed writing skills
  • Ability to communicate with at all levels
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Proactive and perceptive – understand the bigger picture and what we need to deliver it
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Word and Excel
