The Pensions Regulator (TPR) seeks individuals to join its esteemed Determinations Panel.

As a member of this panel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective regulation of pension schemes across the UK. Your expertise and judgment will be instrumental in resolving complex pension-related disputes and safeguarding the interests of millions of savers.

Role Responsibilities
  • Review and assess applications for determinations related to pension scheme issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather relevant evidence to support your decisions.
  • Participate in panel meetings to deliberate on cases and reach well-informed conclusions.
  • Prepare clear and concise written reports outlining your findings and recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including pension scheme trustees, employers, and individuals, to ensure transparency and understanding throughout the process.
Skills and Experience

Successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of UK pensions legislation and regulations. A background in law, finance, or actuarial science is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Commitment and Location

While TPR is based in Brighton, much of the panel's work can be conducted remotely. Members are expected to attend quarterly meetings in Brighton and may be required to participate in Determination Meetings in either Brighton or London. The time commitment is estimated to be around 20 days per year.

Remuneration and Diversity

Determinations Panel members receive a remuneration of £692 per day, with reasonable travel expenses covered according to TPR's policies. TPR is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all individuals are valued and respected.
