About the Role

The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chair to lead the strategic vision and direction of the Panel.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strong leadership and guidance to the Panel, ensuring its work is effective in improving the safeguarding of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Panel, ensuring a focus on impact and effectiveness.
  • Chair high-level meetings, manage team dynamics, and motivate team members to achieve objectives.
  • Exercise sound independent judgment on complex and sensitive issues, analyzing and interpreting detailed information from various agencies.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Multi-Agency Safeguarding Partners at national and local levels.
  • Represent the Panel to the public, media, and children's social care and safeguarding sector.

Essential Criteria:

  • Significant record of achievement in senior leadership roles in complex organizations.
  • Ability to think strategically, exercise sound independent judgment, and analyze complex information.
  • Strong understanding of multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
  • Skilled communicator and influencer, able to handle high-profile, sensitive issues.
