After winning major 100m+ projects in the area, a global engineering firm is currently looking for a Contracts/Commercial manager.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of major projects across the UK. You will be responsible for ensuring project profitability and successful financial outcomes by effectively managing NEC4 contracts, optimising cash flow, and fostering strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Expertly administer NEC4 contracts, including managing change orders, delays, and variations to maximize cost recovery and protect project financials.
  • Financial Performance: Lead the project budget management process, including meticulous cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure projects meet financial targets.
  • Client/Subcontractor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, ensuring timely payment applications and resolution of contractual issues.
  • Change Management: Oversee the change management process, ensuring all variations are captured, evaluated, and appropriately accounted for in project financials.
  • Commercial Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing commercial team, ensuring consistent application of best practices and achievement of commercial objectives.
  • International Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with colleagues across international project hubs to maximize resource utilization and share knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably within the aviation sector.
  • Strong understanding of NEC4 contracts and their application in complex project environments.
  • Excellent financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary commercial team.
  • Experience working in international project environments.
