The opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to join our Insurance Risk and Corporate Insurance team on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Insurance Risk and Corporate Insurance, you'll participate in the operation of the risk management function, particularly in the areas of underwriting, pricing, reinsurance and accumulation management.

Your new role
  • Assist in development and implementation of a 2nd line of defence Assurance Strategy (vision, roadmap, priorities) that aligns with the Risk Strategy, and which will enable the business to comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes, and standards relating to QBE's financial services licenses
  • Work on RCSA and RMSA submissions for our reinsurance pricing and catastrophe modelling functions.
  • Support placement of QBE's external corporate insurance programme
  • Analyse risk information and produce standard and ad hoc reports
  • Assist in selecting and maintaining appropriate risk identification and measurement methodologies
  • Provide 2nd line of defence insights to the help enable business objectives and initiate change
  • Assist in key business projects partnering with key senior stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate checks are performed within processes and procedures to minimize risk exposure
  • Comply with all material legal and regulatory requirements to minimize the risk of business including regulatory obligations and QBE internal requirements
  • Support the development and implementation of an effective education, training, and awareness program for assurance
  • Collate and validate data collected and update system
    About You

    We would love to hear from you should you have an experience in insurance industry. We'll also welcome candidates from other financial services who have working knowledge of risk management processes, language and tools/systems.

    Skills you'll need:
    • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Access and Excel
    • Previous work on risk framework and risk systems
    • Familiarity with underwriting or underwriting processes
    • Experience in assisting with queries to the Risk management function in relation to both risk management and business continuity processes
    • Database management, especially risk databases
    • Report production and presentation skills
    • Stakeholder engagement and management skills
