Head of Building Control

Location : South London E14 5RE

Salary: c£75,000 per annum +Bonus + Benefits (Negotiable - depending on experience)

The company is a national Registered Building Control Approver, and they support the development of safe & inspirational buildings of the future in accordance with the Building Safety Regulations. They deliver building control solutions (including fire safety, warranty and advisory services) on over 30,000 projects a year in both domestic and commercial buildings, and due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Head of Building Control to join the team in the London area.

The Role

The Head of Building Control will join the business at an exciting time of development and growth and will contribute significantly to the profitable long-term growth of the business. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, your main responsibility will be to manage a team of RBI's in the South and, working closely with and supported by an Area RBI and a technical admin team, you will drive performance and ensure the delivery of the area targets set for your team are being met by each RBI. You will be expected to project manage a small number of projects in order to retain your individual RBI status however, a key part of this role will be to engage in recruiting, supporting, training, mentoring, and developing the necessary resources and to provide competent advice to the network for all technical queries as well as ensuring the team has the required capacity and competency to service an agreed portfolio of projects.

Skills and Qualifications

To be shortlisted for this role you will need a professional qualification/membership through RICS & MCABE or equivalent, hold and maintain appropriate technical Class 3 Registered Building Inspector RBI status and be fully conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance, and the HSE Code of Conduct. They will need to see evidence of a proven track record as a leading Registered Building Inspector with experience of managing a team of Surveyors and a wide range of experience in the industry and a comprehensive breadth of experience of different types of buildings and projects.
