As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of building projects across our borough. You will provide specialist structural engineering expertise, lead investigations, and collaborate with stakeholders to promote safe and sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert structural engineering advice on building control applications and investigations.
  • Lead and manage complex building control projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including architects, builders, and other professionals, to promote safe and sustainable development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and community groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes, and apply this knowledge to improve our building control services.

Requirements:

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body, such as the Institution of Structural Engineers.
  • Substantial experience in building control applications, investigations, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations, legislation, and professional codes of practice related to structural engineering and building safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
