The Centre for Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence (CHIA) is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the post of Postgraduate Coordinator, to join CHIA's core administrative team supporting the development and smooth running of our postgraduate programmes, working as part of the postgraduate team within the Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH). This is an open-ended post subject to funding, where funding is available for 3 years in the first instance.

The focus of this role is to provide full administrative support and oversight of the complete educational programme at CHIA, which currently includes new PhD and MPhil courses in Human-inspired Artificial Intelligence (first cohort expected October This varied role will include acting as a first point of contact for all postgraduate enquiries, working with the Course Leaders, colleagues in the ITH postgraduate team and colleagues in the School of Arts and Humanities to ensure the efficient operation of our courses. In the first year, the Postgraduate Coordinator will support the planning of the new MPhil in Human-inspired Artificial Intelligence and will manage advertising the course, the admissions procedure and funding applications. Once the new MPhil launches in October 2025, the role will also involve working closely with Course Leaders to ensure that the course is delivered effectively, and liaising with the School to provide necessary reports and information for the Degree Committee, actioning any decisions taken.

The successful candidate will be proficient in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Teams; have well developed organisational skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. They should be able to work with a high level of accuracy and have good attention to detail. Administrative experience in a Higher Education environment and knowledge of course administration is essential for this role.

The Postgraduate Coordinator reports to the Centre Co-ordinator and will work closely with the education team at CHIA; the Director, Assistant Professors and Teaching Associate, with opportunity to coordinate and collaborate with other Postgraduate Co-ordinators within the Institute and wider School.

Your key responsibilities include:

Managing admission processes and funding competitions.

Organisation, planning and administration of the PhD and MPhil courses and examination process.

Administrative support / coordination including providing information for the School's Degree Committee.

Developing and maintaining office procedures, reviewing processes for effective postgraduate administration.

Acting as first point of contact for postgraduate enquiries.

Working closely with Course Directors / Leads to contribute towards the organisation of student induction, seminars, student conferences and other events.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
