The West London Free School is looking for a highly competent administrator to fulfil the crucial role of Examinations Officer. The role is part time, but we could find additional responsibilities for the right candidate. We will provide training on the job, so previous experience of the role or of working in a school is not required.

A school Examinations Officer is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of external examinations. The officer acts as the primary liaison between the school and external examination bodies. They need to be familiar with the requirements and regulations placed on schools by both awarding bodies and the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), ensuring that the school is compliant with these before, during, and after examination periods.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Understand the requirements of all external examinations held by the school. Manage the logistics for examination sessions, including timetabling, room booking, resources and staffingComply with all JCQ and awarding body regulations and keep up to date with any changes. Manage arrangements for the safe and secure receipt, checking and storing of examination papers and materialsContribute to development and review of examination-related school policiesWork with the SENCO to ensure appropriate access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for appropriate pupilsManage registration of candidates for all examinationsMake arrangements for sharing results with students during the August GCSE and A-level results days. The successful candidate will be: Highly organised, and capable of managing teams of exam invigilators. Polite and effective interpersonal skills. Proficient at Excel, and comfortable working with large data sets. Able to keep clam under pressure of the exam sessions.
