The Opportunity: Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to apply your expertise in an agricultural setting while further developing your skills? Our client, an agricultural company based near Chester, is currently seeking an experienced Farm Accounts Assistant to join a diligent finance team working from their rural offices. With proven invoicing experience and exposure to payroll processes, you will become a key member ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping and smooth operations. Utilising your existing skill set, you will receive the necessary support to excel and flourish in the role.

Role

Responsibilities:
  • To manage the end-to-end purchase ledger process ensuring smooth management for the group
  • To raise sales ledger invoices accurately
  • To conduct weekly and monthly payment runs including any ad hoc payment as needed
  • To liaise internally and externally with supplier to resolve queries promptly and efficiently
  • To undertake monthly statement reconciliations
  • To accurately input invoice in a timely manner, ensuring correct VAT and nominal coding
  • To process fortnightly and monthly wage, for over 60 employees
  • To calculate and input data onto the payroll system
  • To submit EPS or FPS and P11d filings on the payroll from start to finish
  • To maintain the employee personnel file, holiday forms, tax code and SSP payroll system

    Skills you will need:Essential:
    • Proven experience in an accounting position, (preferably in the agricultural sector)
    • A strong comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    • Excellent data entry and numerical skills with a high attention to detail
    • Highly organised with good time management skills, able to multitask and meet deadlines
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • The ability to work independently, and as part of a team
    • A knowledge and understanding of the agriculture sector and farming practices
    • A capable, professional, and diligent mindset
    • Highly proficient in IT and accounting software
