The game industry, the fastest growing sector of the entertainment industry, is being heavily disrupted by cloud technology. Virtually all game developers are evolving to deliver Games-as-a-Service, centered on continuous content delivery and player engagement, and require accelerated production environments, agile back-end infrastructure, and live ops services. The nature of game creation is also expanding to include "citizen creators ", with a greater focus on community and user generated content .

We are looking for you to help bring Microsoft cloud capabilities and game development tools and services to game creators globally . With a passion for driving innovation and customer value, the broad scope of responsibility of this role requires a solid understanding of both business and technology strategy, change management, and a principled approach to broad digital transformation challenges and opportunities.

The Technical Industry Advisor core accountabilities include:
  • Own, manage and develop technical business relationships with the technology influencers/decision makers of gaming customers.
  • Lead the translation of the gaming customers' desired business outcomes into technical architecture.
  • Influence and orchestrate the implementation of all technical resources involved in delivering the gaming customers' desired outcome.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify , nurture, and drive digital transformation projects with gaming customers.
  • Provide technology leadership by influencing the design of technical architectures to support gaming customers' business outcomes.
  • Provide technical sales leadership, with a strong focus on technology and business.
  • Disrupt the mindset of customers and sales teams by bringing innovative ideas that showcase Microsoft's unique value proposition.
  • Be an advocate with the development community at meetups and other industry events.
  • Must be able to build close relationships with gaming customers and partners, to drive mutual success.
  • Must have a passion for solution selling and be customer satisfaction obsessed.

Basic Qualification s
  • Experience of selling to or consulting with enterprise, media or gaming customers.
  • Bachelor's degree , engineering or computer science degree preferred : or equivalent experience .
  • Experience of leading multi-cultural, diverse and remote teams across different disciplines .
  • Ability to navigate a customer through technical presentations in person and remotely.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable giving tech talks.
Core Qualifications
  • Passion for gaming and appreciation of the technical requirements spanning different gaming platforms/business models ( e.g. free-to-play, console, PC, live services).
  • Deep technical understanding of Azure platform and Xbox services.
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate across technical teams and deploy successful proof-of-concepts.
  • Experience negotiating and winning technology contracts.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Game Stack value proposition and differentiation.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platform competitors, their game-related services and capabilities, and other Open Source game development technologies.
  • Ability to build empathy and credibility with gaming technical decision-makers at a studio.
  • Ability to meetyourcustomerswhere they are, future-proof their needs and to maketheir lives easier through technical solutions so they can focus on creating great games.
  • Technical background in DevOps, LiveOps, back-end game development or game production an advantage.
