The Display & Social media team is responsible for the growth and continuous improvement of an industry leading programme of digital marketing across display, social, programmatic, VOD and mobile media. Display & Social media is an important and rapidly growing part of our digital marketing mix across brands.

As the Digital Marketing Associate for Display & Social media, you will be responsible for the activation and optimisation of our display, programmatic and social efforts for a range of Argos supplier funded activity. Argos Client Services offers suppliers an opportunity to invest in retail media and activate across a range of display & social platforms.

Key to this role is to support the execution of media campaigns that support our customer and category plans. Day to day you will be working closely with the Display & Social Media Lead and our agency to manage budgets and deliver commercial impact from our activities.

What I need to do

Campaign Management

Execute Display & Social media activity across a range of supplier brands and platforms to deliver the best possible commercial performance. Work closely with Nectar360 and trading teams to execute the overall customer and category plans through the activation of bespoke and dedicated campaigns. Work closely with our agency of record to deliver best-in-class media campaigns that are thoroughly planned, optimised and measured. Support the Display & Social Media Lead in evolving our media programs by employing an agile, test & learn approach that encourages testing of new formats, betas and platforms. Work closely with marketing, brand and creative teams to ensure we are activating campaigns in an efficient and effective manner, which support our customer goals. Work closely with brand and design teams to develop digital creative that supports our customer and category plans ensuring we establish and employ best practices throughout. Budget Management & Reporting

Track and monitor the marketing budget for your dedicated campaigns. Ensure spend is in-line with budget plans keeping variances to a minimum. Update a structured and rigorous reporting framework that tracks media performance vs targets. Reporting should be refreshed regularly, shared broadly, and used consistently to prioritise activity. Refine our reporting approach as requirements change over time to cover the 'right' metrics and not all available metrics (e.g. viewability and time-in-view vs CTR). Project Management

Support the Display & Social Media Lead in planning and delivering a pipeline of dedicated media projects that will help to fuel continuous growth and performance. Maintain a record of learnings that are shared broadly across the team. Initiate projects that test the fundamentals of media such as ad creative, ad length, formats etc. Work closely with brand and Ecommerce teams to build tests and report back the results. Work closely with media partners such as Google and Facebook to ensure we are adhering to their best practices in display and programmatic marketing. How I will succeed

Media program meets commercial objectives. Continued improvement in return on investment across Display & Social activity. Seamless execution of the media strategy across dedicated categories and campaigns. What I need to know

Appreciation for the inner workings and data flows of Display, programmatic and auction-based media. Practical experience in planning and buying digital media programmatically, with awareness of the adops function and processes. Knowledge and practical experience in a range of Social platforms You must be experienced at managing budgets and highly organised to manage multiple priorities and projects. Significant analytical skills and ability to manipulate data, with a strong grasp of intermediate excel skills (pivot tables, lookups). A strong understanding of the principles of performance marketing, and how to use insight to make media choices. A strong understanding of the principles of ecommerce and how paid channels can be used to drive demand. What I need to show

A passion for digital marketing and desire to become a channel expert. A willingness to undertake significant continuous development to maintain knowledge of a fast-moving specialism. Highly data-driven, detailed oriented and analytical individual that like using data to solve problems and make decisions. A customer centric approach with a passion and appreciation for excellent creative Collaborative and willing to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across marketing, Ecommerce and Trading to make things happen at pace.
