About the department

At abrdn the Client Group is responsible for Sales, Client Service & Marketing of the Investment Business. The Client Office sits within the Client Group reporting directly to the Chief Client Officer. It is organised around four pillars– Key Clients, Business Management, Sale Execution and Performance. The Manager, Performance & Planning is a key role within the fourth pillar – Performance – with a high degree of autonomy. It reports to the Head of Client Office

About the role

The Manager, Performance and Planning role holder will get the opportunity to be responsible for assessing & reporting on the performance of the Client Group and sub teams as well as using insights from this analysis to drive improvements.

The Manager, Performance and Planning role holder will also get the opportunity to run the annual planning process within the Client Group. The role holder will have exposure to and engage directly with a number of senior stakeholders both within the Client Group (including the Chief Client Officer and Client Group Leadership team) and other functions notably Finance. The role holder will work closely with the wider Client Office to deliver on these responsibilities.

The Manager, Performance and Planning role holder will have significant influence on driving high performance and continual improvement within the Client Group.

Key Responsibilities

Assessing & reporting on the performance of Client Group and underlying teams

Ownership of and production of relevant MI, reporting & narratives for Client Group management meetings, Investment Executive forums, Committees and boards Simplify complex and incomplete data providing a clear narrative across flow, and activity, in particular with regards to queries from IE, ELT, Finance, Investor Relations and Client Group Leadership on Client Group activity and financial position Ownership and reporting of Client Group scorecards Using insights to drive improvements within Client Group Derive insight from MI and Scorecards to drive change (and where relevant implement) Perform periodic analysis of different teams and processes to identify and drive need for change Planning Own and deliver annual plans working with Sales Operations Enable and support Chief Client Officer and Head of Client Office in ensuring plans are ambitious and robust Monitor and report on progress versus plans About the candidate requirements Strong data handling and interpretation skills as well as an intuitive grasp of systems and software Strong knowledge of management information, including key metrics Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, as well as a track record of developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the business Proven ability to present recommendations to and positively influence multiple stakeholders on key business initiatives and strategic considerations Experience in the investment/asset management industry with proven experience in strategic planning, business management or a similar role We are proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer.
