CONTROLLERS ROLE
Controllers play a vital role in ensuring the firm meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. They assess profitability and risks across all areas of the business while ensuring compliance with financial market regulations.
Our team manages the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk, providing financial control and reporting functions. From evaluating counterparties' creditworthiness to monitoring market risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, our work directly contributes to the firm's success, making it perfect for collaborative individuals with strong ethics and attention to detail.
YOUR IMPACT
The Financial Reporting department comprises 5 teams, each focusing on different aspects including Operating Entities Controllers, Investment Accounting, Structured Investing Group Controllers, Goldman Sachs International Controllers, and Regulatory Financial Reporting Controllers.
As an Investment Accounting Controller, you will oversee financial reporting for entities investing in real estate assets, loans, debt, and private equity investments. You will develop a deep understanding of these entities, their investments, strategies, and associated accounting requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, analyze, review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports under US GAAP
- Prepare financial statements, resolve accounting issues, and liaise with auditors
- Review monthly and annual local GAAP financial reports
- Coordinate with various teams across the firm
- Develop processes for accurate accounting information
- Provide oversight for regulatory compliance
- Own and become the subject matter expert for entities
- Stay updated with business and market trends and communicate effectively
- Proactively seek opportunities for improvement
- Participate in department-wide projects and initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Accountant - ACA
- Demonstrate technical accounting knowledge
- Experience in financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in French and/or Spanish languages
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
- Multi-cultural sensitivities and teamwork ethic
