Are you looking for a role in Human Resources? Do you want to develop a range of transferable skills? If so, look no further than our role of Human Resources Apprentice.

We are currently looking to recruit a proactive and engaging Human Resources Apprentice to support our ambitious Apprenticeship strategy.

Being part of the council's HR & Organisational Development function, in this role you will work with colleagues across the Human Resources sub-teams. Working across several workstreams to deliver a positive, customer focused service to others. You will be regularly communicating with colleagues by phone and email. You will also be responsible for ensuring that data and documentation are processed efficiently and effectively.

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about establishing their career in Human Resources. You will be driven and willing to undertake relevant learning and development programmes to enhance your future development and will be supported to undertake a Level 3 HR Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills gained from your learning to your role and progress your career.

The apprenticeship will be offered on a fixed term two year contract and is a hybrid working role with a minimum of 3 days spent working in the Merton Civic Centre office.

Required skills and behaviours:

You will need good verbal and written communication skills, be able to work individually but also as part of a team and be well organised.
You will need to have good IT skills.
With a positive attitude, you will be solution focused and able to use your own initiative to resolve problems, consistently working to a high professional standard.
As an enthusiastic and flexible member of staff, you will be able and willing to take on a variety of new tasks (with direction) and apply yourself to them.

To be eligible for apprenticeship funding the following criteria set by the Department for Education must be met.

You must either:
Be a UK national who has been ordinarily resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies for the previous three years.
Have the right of abode status and have been ordinarily resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years.
