Goodrays is the sole supplier of CBD drinks to Tesco, the UK’s largest retailer, and one of only two brands launched within Waitrose, the UK’s most premium retailer. With a pipeline of mainstream retail launches and expansions taking place in 2024, and high barriers to entry, Goodrays is set to lead the category growth for the next five years.
The Category
Goodrays is leading the UK CBD category growth, which is worth an estimated £690 million annually, and disrupting the global CBD market which is set to grow from $4.7 billion in 2022 to $17 billion by 2026. CBD has become one of the fastest growing categories in mainstream retail with consumers and distributors adopting the category at an extraordinary rate. Google searches for ‘CBD’ are 26 times higher than other high-profile searches such as ‘Low-alcohol beer’.
One in five UK consumers have now tried a CBD product and for those who haven’t, another three in ten consumers are looking to access the category, tapping into wider health and mental wellness trends. In more mature markets such as the US, over one in every two consumers have now tried CBD, highlighting the immediate opportunity for growth.
The Role
Goodrays is looking for an energetic, organised and entrepreneurial Foodservice NAM to join our all-star team to gain listings, drive volume and brand awareness in 2024 and into the future.
The role will require experience in sales and account management within FMCG business, ideally within a challenger brand. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Sales, Head of Marketing and the Founder.
This is a great opportunity to join one of the first mainstream CBD companies in the UK and help us to disrupt the alcohol, sugar and caffeine industries to revolutionise health and wellbeing.
As the sector lead, you will take full P&L accountability alongside the development of medium and long-term strategic growth plans in order to deliver net profit and gross Sales targets. You will be responsible for building the overall sector and account strategy within the Foodservice channel. You will have the freedom to develop and execute your plan. Key responsibilities:
Define the Goodrays strategy within the foodservice sector.nDrive new business and manage the P&L across Foodservice including key sub-sectors within that from Wholesalers to end users and everything in between.nGenerating leads for targeted accounts, drafting and executing outreach to targets and managing a fast-moving sales pipeline.nComplete product drops, build trade relationships and follow up with potential customers.nOrganising sales meetings, developing pitch decks, drafting compelling commercial and consumer-focused proposals.nExecuting marketing campaigns with existing accounts to increase product visibility, brand awareness and rate of sale.nManaging accounts with orders, inventory, pricing and promotional materials.nCreate and manage forecasts on expected volumes and sales pipeline and communicate with production and operations teams.nProvide weekly updates on sales performance and help develop and manage sales KPIs and sales trends.nReporting on customer feedback and working with the product and marketing teams on new formats, occasions, product development and communications.nBalancing time between visiting accounts and leads out in the field and building a sales pipeline and commercial proposal from home and the office.nEffectively manage our CRM: CoppernAnalysis of both internal and external data providing insights to further grow the category and Goodrays share within it.
