About the role

As a Payroll Adviser you will coordinate, administer and advise employees, managers and third parties on Payroll policies, procedures and systems to deliver a consistent and customer focused service that is compliant with statutory and NFU Mutual requirements and enables effective self-service.

You'll gain invaluable experience delivering an essential service to the business, ensuring that every month 4,500 employees are paid correctly and on time. A friendly and welcoming team, Payroll care about the work they deliver and supporting employees with their most important reward - pay.

This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to HR/Payroll policies and procedures in a large organisation. You'll work on all aspects of the full employee life cycle from adding new starters to processing contract changes, overtime, and leavers. And if you are currently studying, or planning to start the CIPP, study support may be available.

About you

Along with a desire to either start or develop your payroll career, you'll bring your experience of working within an administrative or data entry role. Although it would be preferred that you have experience within a payroll team, this is not essential as we will provide you with all the training you need for you to be a success in this role.

Alongside the above you will also demonstrate:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A strong attention to detail with good numeracy skills
  • Comfortable working with confidential data
  • Competent with Microsoft applications including excel, if you have any payroll or HR systems even better.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
