About the role:
We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours to start as soon as possible at a primary school in Islington. This role is newly created to enhance support for students with challenging behaviours, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need. The recruitment process includes a face-to-face interview and possibly a trial day, so early applications are encouraged.
The school is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment, where you will work closely with students with special educational needs in both Key Stages 1 and 2, alongside a supportive team. The school values respect, inclusion, and collaboration, offering a nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive.
Application Requirements:
• Experienced in working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviours.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working closely with students who have challenging behaviours to help them engage with their learning.
• Providing one-on-one support and implementing strategies to manage and improve behaviour.
• Collaborating with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored educational plans.
