Our students are a mixed-ability group, including those with high SEN needs and challenging behaviours. We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment, utilizing resources like our amazing library, exceptional sports facilities, and a dedicated ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) for children with high autism. Located just a short walk from the nearest Underground and bus stations, our school is easily accessible.
About the role:
Join our dedicated team as an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in challenging behaviours. This role is a new addition to our growing team, reflecting our commitment to enhancing support for our pupils with special educational needs.
You will work closely with students requiring additional support, implementing personalised strategies to help them thrive in a mainstream classroom setting. Our school emphasises a strong partnership with parents, ensuring that our approach to education is holistic and collaborative.
Our recruitment process includes two stages: an initial interview with the SEN Coordinator and a final interview with the Head Teacher. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply early
Application Requirements:
• The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a similar role and a background in supporting children with SEN in primary education.
• Familiarity with strategies for managing challenging behaviours is essential.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans).
• Patience, resilience, and a passion for making a difference in students’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Tailored Support: Work closely with students who have special educational needs, implementing individualized learning plans to help them overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
• Manage Challenging Behaviours: Utilise positive behavior management techniques to support students in developing appropriate social skills and coping mechanisms, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Educators and Parents: Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress, ensuring a collaborative approach to each child’s education.
• Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive classroom environment by supporting the integration of students with SEN into mainstream activities, encouraging peer interaction, and promoting a positive, inclusive culture.
