Operations Director

Shore Executive have been appointed on behalf of a vibrant Commercial Fit Out (Main Contractor) to appoint an Operations Director to oversee and lead the delivery team. As Operations Director you will form part of the Operational Board reporting directly to the Managing Director.


This is a newly created position to compliment growth and business objectives to increase both project value and an already admirable turnover.


As Operations Director you will have 5 direct reports (Project Directors) and will be responsible for a project portfolio of £60 - £70 Million. You will be responsible for the construction and operations functions of the business which will comprise of multiple fit out projects.


This position would suit those already operating at this level or those currently working as a Project Director.



Key Responsibilities will include:


  • for overseeing each project which will include the programme, procurement cycle and delivery of each project in accordance with the schedule of works and contractual obligations
  • in partnership with the commercial team to manage budget and financial status of each project
  • maintain key client and sub-contractor relationships
  • Support directors in developing and delivering business strategy
  • Responsible for overseeing project tenders
  • Attend client pitches / meetings
  • Work in partnership with the commercial team offering advice regarding construction methods and programme advice
  • Responsible for overseeing project handover ensuring each client receives regular reports regarding the programme, cost and progress of their projects
  • The selection and appointment of sub-contractors
  • Ensure obligation are met with Building Control and relevant statutory authorities
  • Ensure all programme and cost reporting is communicated
  • Monitor risk of each project



Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally match the following:


  • Currently working for a Traditional Main Contractor with experience of overseeing and delivering Commercial Fit Out Projects ideally Offices both CAT A and B (those with experience of Leisure and Hospitality will be considered)
  • Experience of Cut and Carve would be preferred
  • Must have experience of overseeing the tender process
  • Currently working at Director level
