Job overview
We are recruiting for a Research Office Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients
The Research Office Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient administrative management of the Research Office and for providing administrative support to the Research Office team.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,136 and a maximum payment of £1,915 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will also be responsible for supporting the Research Office team with processing amendments, organising any required research meetings and taking minutes.
The post-holder will lead as the department's database administrator and take responsibility for reporting data to meet external requirements.
The post-holder will work as part of a team with others in the Research Office, the research delivery teams, Lead Research Consultants, pharmacists and representatives of sponsoring drug companies and research organisations

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
  • Diploma or equivalent in administration

Previous Experience
Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in administration
  • Experience of working in an NHS or University setting

Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in clinical research administration and understanding of clinical trial administrative procedures

Skills
Essential criteria
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office including word, internet based applications, excel & powerpoint
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to deal with staff at all levels
  • Good numeracy skills

Desirable criteria
  • Advance Excel graphs/ pivots

Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of data entry and using databases such as 'Microsoft Access'

Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of research administration databases such as EDGE
