The role will primarily be focusing on delivery of coordination and administrative duties across the Outpatient and Theatre Departments. You will provide a link between the Hospital, Consultants, Secretaries and patients.

The role will be focused on utilisation of both departments and coordinating theatre sessions and outpatient sessions to maximise utilisation with the support of the Patient Services Manager.


You will:

  • Review and action appropriate clinic requests for extensions, cancellations
  • Share available theatre sessions with the Consultant Cohort
  • Allocate adhoc theatre sessions with a clear understanding of what revenue each theatre slot, session and clinic produce
  • Monitor and evaluate future capacity resources against demand
  • Production of utilisation reports for monthly meetings
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure they have adequate clinic and theatre space
  • Have a clear understanding of all aspects of patient care and pathway processes
  • To ensure a professional and courteous manner to all customers i.e. patients, GP's, Consultant, secretaries and all other visitors to the department
  • Proactively finding solutions to ensure cases are booked when most convenient to patients and surgeons;
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and ensure the highest customer quality care and confidentiality
