The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture.

As the Risk Specialist you will have a pivotal role in 2LOD Non-Financial Risk Management. (NFRM).

You will play a key role in ensuring that the Data & Records Management Risk Type Controller (RTC) team maintains and continues to strengthen oversight across a broad range of topics.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage Risk Type Controller (RTC) activities in line with NFRM Framework requirements and the banks Operational Risk Management Framework. Drive and own collaboration across a team in which all team members are expected to contribute intellectual capital and constantly provide creative solutions
  • Collaborate with 1LoD stakeholders to drive enhancements in the Data and Records Management operating models across the bank including Policies and Controls
  • Provide rigorous and constructive challenge/validation e.g. on 1st Line Controls, risk and control assessments results and control initiatives. Participate in risk identification and mitigation processes
  • Provide guidance across Data and Records RTC expect to drive strategic changes across other risk types within NFRM. Drive Operating model changes across Data and Records RTC seeking efficiencies and challenging the status quo.
  • Provide support as required to a range of CTB activities including control enhancements around Third Party Business Messaging.

Your skills and experience

  • Prior experience of working in a 2LOD/control function team, a robust understanding of Non-Financial Risk Management principles and practices
  • Confident and articulate with excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholder audiences across different businesses
  • Calm under pressure, able to juggle complex priorities to meet immediate and unpredictable deadlines while also ensuring that longerterm projects are completed
  • Personally accountable for results and has the ability to work within a flat hierarchy and triage questions and issues, make decisions along with judgment to escalate problems appropriately
  • An understanding of Data & Records Management and an awareness/understanding of industry trends would be beneficial
