An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medicines Optimisation Assistant to work within our Surgical Service.

Brief Description of the Role:


The post holder will be a link between ward colleagues and pharmacy with the principle aim of improving patient flow and patient experience.

The role will include taking responsibility for the ward stock provided by pharmacy including stock levels.

It also includes working alongside the ward pharmacist to improve patient flow by ensuring that discharge medication is ordered in advance and discussing with families which medications they already have at home.


You will be an integral part of the ward 2 and 5 teams and will work alongside the ward sisters and undertake any tasks deemed appropriate to the role.

You will have the opportunity to maintain your skills by working a proportion of the time in the pharmacy department.
