Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join our dynamic team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our stroke service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our comprehensive stroke service.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide consultant-led care for patients with acute stroke, including early liaison with A&E and supporting thrombolysis.
  • To participate in on-call rotas and contribute to the TIA service by assisting in the provision of a daily TIA clinic.
  • To support the lead clinician for stroke in furthering service developments and provide support for stroke clinical governance.
  • To aid and facilitate the rapid transfer of stroke patients from BRI to Ward 9 or SLH for rehabilitation.
  • To help develop all aspects of stroke services, including training of junior medical and therapy/nursing staff.
  • To represent the Trust at CCG and Stroke Clinical Advisory Group meetings.
