We are looking for a Participation Producer to join our Public Programming team on a permanent full-time basis.

About the role and the team:
Southbank Centre's public programme strives to represent and be relevant to the people of London. To empower all identities and enrich the culturally vibrant landscape of the city.

We prioritise platforming underrepresented voices and communities alongside artist development, and achieve this through in depth partnership work with artists and organisations.

The team work across public spaces as part of a year round free programme of events, and also programme and produce ticketed auditorium shows in festivals and thematic seasons.

The Public Programming team are also responsible for the family programme focussed on children aged and their families.

Role Objectives:

  • Working with the Head of Public Programming, to develop a yearround consistent programme of free events which reflect the art form mix of Southbank Centre and maximise opportunities for engagement with new and local audiences. Ensuring the offer supports the Southbank Centre's audience development priorities and reflects and is relevant to London's diverse communities, including children and young people, those excluded from the arts and those with low participation in the arts.
  • To work as part of the Public Programming team in creating a Southbank Centrewide creative, accessible and innovative public programme within festivals and thematic seasons.
  • To work closely with colleagues in the Creative Engagement team to ensure that, where possible, the year round offer has links and pathways for participants engaged in their community programmes, and with social prescribing partners.
  • To work with internal teams to develop evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of the year round Public Programme and report on these as requested.

Southbank Centre


Southbank Centre is Europe's largest arts centre and one of the UK's top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London's most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames.

The site has an extraordinary creative and architectural history stretching back to the 1951 Festival of Britain.

Southbank Centre is made up of the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Hayward Gallery as well as being home to the National Poetry Library and the Arts Council Collection.

It is also home to six Resident Orchestras (Aurora Orchestra, Chineke Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Philharmonia Orchestra).
