Education and professional development responsibility:

Access professional advice, support and supervision from the Designated/Deputies and Named Nurses for Safeguarding Adults, Children and Children in Care.

Undertake appropriate continuous professional development (CPD) in order to maintain clinical expertise by remaining up to date with clinical developments as agreed by Annual appraisal process.

Operate within all Professional and ICBs Policies and Protocols for good practice.

The Named Professional should participate regularly in support groups or peer support networks for specialist professionals at a local and National level, according to professional guidelines (attendance should be recorded).

Confidentiality As a staff member, you will gain knowledge of a range of highly confidential matters being given consideration by the ICB.

Under no circumstances should such information be divulged or passed to any unauthorised person or person(s).

This includes holding discussions with colleagues concerning patients in situation where they conversation may be overheard. Breaches of confidence will result in disciplinary action, which may involve dismissal.

Geographic coverage/ boundaries All residents in Coventry & Warwickshire All patients registered or needing to register with a NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB (CWICB) responsible GP practice.

Other Duties The post holder will be required to use a computer and will be responsible for the quality of information.

The post holder will need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). The amount of time spent on this type of work will depend on the job.

The post holder will be required to take part in an annual performance appraisal, where this job description will be reviewed, and objectives set.

The ICB has a No Smoking Policy that prohibits any smoking whilst at work.


To follow and adhere to the ICBs Health and Safety Policies and instructions and be responsible for your own and others health and safety in the workplace.

The post holder is expected to contribute to the creation of a working environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and treated with dignity Contractual Responsibilities ConfidentialityThe post holder must maintain confidentiality, security and integrity of information relating to patients, staff, and other Heath Service business.

Health and SafetyAll staff must be familiar with the ICBs Health and Safety Policy, including a thorough understanding of personal responsibilities for maintaining own health and safety and others.

Risk ManagementAll staff need a basic working knowledge of risk management to enable them to participate in identification and control of all business risks that they encounter in their area of work.

All employees are required to be familiar with their responsibilities in this area and to raise any concerns as appropriate Conflict of InterestThe ICBs are responsible for ensuring that the service provided for patients in its care meets the highest possible standard.

Equally, the ICBs are responsible for ensuring that staff do not abuse their official position for personal gain or to benefit their family or friends.

The ICBs Standing Financial Instructions require any officer to declare any interest, direct or indirect, involving the ICBs. Staff are not allowed to further their private interests in the course of their NHS duties.


Working Time RegulationsThe Working Time Regulations 1998 require that you should not work more than an average of 48 hours in each working week.

For example, in a 26-week period you should work no more than 1248 hours. Employees may choose to opt out by providing written notification
