Safeguarding and Compliance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding and Compliance Lead to join our team at Midcounties Co-operative. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in upholding and enhancing our safeguarding policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Safeguarding Policies: Develop, implement, and regularly review safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead: Act as the group designated Safeguarding Lead, serving as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns raised by staff, parents, or external agencies.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks to children's safety and well-being.
- Collaboration with External Agencies: Support nursery colleagues in collaborating with external agencies, such as social services and regulatory bodies, to address safeguarding concerns and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- DBS Referrals: Make DBS referrals should any significant incidents occur with colleagues, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and safeguarding protocols.
- Early Years Level 3 Qualification: Minimum Early Years Level 3 qualification.
- Safeguarding Experience: Experience of working in a Safeguarding role in an Early Years setting.
- Professional Experience: Experience of working professionally in a Safeguarding role, liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
- Certified Safeguarding Lead: Certified Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Excellent Safeguarding knowledge of policy and legislation relating to safeguarding children and families.
- Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop proactive strategies to address safeguarding concerns.
- Training and Development: Agreement to deliver training confidently and support nurseries nationally – this may require staying away from home for short periods of time.
- Full UK Driving License: Full UK Driving License.
