Safeguarding and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding and Compliance Lead to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As the designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a critical role in upholding and enhancing our safeguarding policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and regularly review safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
- Act as the group designated Safeguarding Lead, serving as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns raised by staff, parents, or external agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks to children's safety and well-being.
- Support nursery colleagues in collaborating with external agencies, such as social services and regulatory bodies, to address safeguarding concerns and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Make DBS referrals as necessary, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and safeguarding protocols.
- Early Years Level 3 qualification minimum.
- Experience of working in a Safeguarding role in an Early Years setting.
- Experience of working professionally in a Safeguarding role, liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
- Certified Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
- Excellent Safeguarding knowledge of policy and legislation relating to safeguarding children and families.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop proactive strategies to address safeguarding concerns.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Agreement to deliver training confidently and support nurseries nationally.
- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
