Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Safeguarding Policies: Develop, implement, and regularly review safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.

  • Collaboration with External Agencies: Support nursery colleagues in collaborating with external agencies, such as social services and regulatory bodies, to address safeguarding concerns and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • DBS Referrals: Make DBS referrals should any significant incidents occur with colleagues, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and safeguarding protocols.
Requirements:
  • Early Years Level 3 Qualification: Minimum Early Years Level 3 qualification.
  • Safeguarding Experience: Experience of working in a Safeguarding role in an Early Years setting.
  • Professional Experience: Experience of working professionally in a Safeguarding role, liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • Certified Safeguarding Lead: Certified Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Excellent Safeguarding knowledge of policy and legislation relating to safeguarding children and families.
  • Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop proactive strategies to address safeguarding concerns.
  • Training and Development: Agreement to deliver training confidently and support nurseries nationally – this may require staying away from home for short periods of time.
  • Full UK Driving License: Full UK Driving License.
