Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, United Kingdom National Grid Full time
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electricity Compliance Manager to join our team at National Grid. As a key member of our Connection Operations Team, you will play a critical role in guiding customers through the process of connecting to our energy system.

As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the connections compliance processes to deliver and maintain compliant customer connections against the contractual framework, technical appreciation, and industry codes. You will provide all necessary assurance of compliance to the business and facilitate timely new customer connections to the required standards and in a manner that exceeds our customers' expectations.

About Us

At National Grid, we are committed to operating a zero-carbon electricity system for Great Britain by 2025. This means using wind, solar, and hydropower - without relying on any carbon-based generators to balance the grid. We are also transitioning to become the National Energy System Operator (NESO), which will be the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain's electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system.

About You

We are looking for someone with extensive experience of effectively dealing with customers leading to dispute resolution, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and expert knowledge of the Grid Code, CUSC, STC, and associated governance structures and regulatory frameworks. You should also have a proven ability to understand complex issues and offer users viable solutions, considering impact on the electricity system.

What You'll Get

We offer a competitive salary between £45,000-£64,000 p.a. dependent on experience and capability, as well as a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a comprehensive benefits package tailored to support your well-being and professional success.

Key Accountabilities

As an Electricity Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Effectively co-ordinating cross-functional project teams and external customers and stakeholders to deliver and maintain customer connection projects in a timely manner and in line with the contractual framework and industry codes.
  • Building and developing collaborative and trusted partnerships across a portfolio of highly complex projects to deliver value and ensure future compliance is achieved.
  • Leading the delivery of complex projects to continuously improve customer satisfaction, anticipating challenges and developing new solutions to drive change.
  • Pro-actively identifying any associated connection compliance risks, prioritising and driving the development of solutions to mitigate these risks for the overall benefit of customers, stakeholders, and the business.
  • Accurately recording and effectively managing data in all appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with licence, industry codes, and GDPR.
