Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a small engineering product design team to ensure high-quality work is produced within agreed timelines.
  • Manage the full product design cycle from concept to production handover.
  • Drive electrical and electronic innovation and ideation for the business.
  • Be the electrical expert for the business, supporting simple DC circuits to CAN Bus networks.
  • Support mechanical engineering design when needed.
  • Ensure technical compliance of electrical design to customer specifications, including safety and legislative compliance.
  • Support technical customer support with electrical-focused technical expertise.
  • Drive problem-solving within the department for a quick-paced solution-focused approach.
  • Align the team with wider business goals, including annual goals.
  • Attend management meetings.
  • Cultivate and drive team engagement.
  • Complete personnel management tasks, including 1:1s, goal setting, etc.
  • Produce necessary design documentation to substantiate design and application to a project.
  • Work with European colleagues to synergize engineering activities.
  • Focus on customer obsession and improvements.
  • Interact with engineering services to design and optimize electrical production processes.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years' experience in engineering.
  • At least 3 years' management experience preferred.
  • Significant experience in electrical design engineering with knowledge/experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Hands-on approach.
  • Engineering degree or apprenticeship equivalent.
