About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding and Compliance Specialist to join our team at The Midcounties Co-operative. As the Safeguarding and Compliance Lead, you will play a critical role in upholding and enhancing our safeguarding policies and procedures.
Your expertise will ensure that our practices across the estate are compliant with the latest industry regulations and legislation. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and legislation.
- Act as the group designated Safeguarding Lead, serving as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns raised by staff, parents, or external agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks to children's safety and well-being.
- Support nursery colleagues in collaborating with external agencies, such as social services and regulatory bodies, to address safeguarding concerns and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Make DBS referrals as necessary, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and safeguarding protocols.
Requirements:
- Early Years Level 3 qualification minimum.
- Experience of working in a Safeguarding role in an Early Years setting.
- Experience of working professionally in a Safeguarding role, liaising with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
- Certified Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
- Excellent knowledge of policy and legislation relating to safeguarding children and families.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop proactive strategies to address safeguarding concerns.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Agreement to deliver training confidently and support nurseries nationally.
- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
- Full UK Driving License.
