Our Chief Examiners ensure the creation of fair and valid assessment materials that meet CILEX requirements, including question papers, mark schemes, and case study materials.

Our Revisers conduct a meticulous review of initial assessment drafts, guaranteeing they accurately measure learning outcomes, assessment criteria, and curriculum coverage.

Our Scrutinisers evaluate proposed assessment materials from a candidate's perspective, providing feedback via the Script Review Form to prepare for the Assessment Record Meeting.

CILEX offers assessments in various subjects and levels, such as Business, Civil Litigation, Contract Law, Conveyancing, Criminal Law, Employment Law, and more.

Requirements for all positions:

Essential Experience

Hold a Level 6 or Level 7 legal qualification from a university in England or Wales, or have completed the CILEX route.Minimum of 2 years' recent legal sector experience.Familiarity with SRA or CILEX Code of Conduct.

Desirable Experience

Background in producing, reviewing, or critiquing legal assessments.Proficiency in Microsoft products like Teams, SharePoint, and Word.Supervisory/management experience in legal practice.Prior involvement with a professional or membership body in the legal field.Thorough understanding of assessment principles.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
