Job purpose:

To fulfil the general administrative & office management functions required for Hafan Yr Afon.


To provide support to the building manager, Staff and Volunteers of Open Newtown in ref to events or workshops that are taking place within Hafan Yr Afon.

To work with our local community and our partners to promote our green spaces and all local businesses within the town

Create and manage administrative systems and ensure that they run smoothly.

This will include dealing with various enquiries ref events, room bookings and sending out menu options for our caterer Bubbling Stove Bistro.


Be expected to work flexibly across the week with differing hours to help cover functions and events in the evenings and weekends.

(This will be on a rota basis)

Proactively promote the building via social media working alongside our comms team. Using various creative streams such as Canva etc.

Keyholder Duties which include opening and closing of building, answering alarm call outs if necessary.

Assist with general admin, including mail-outs, photocopying, ordering stationery post duties and much more.

Acceptance of various deliveries, processing paperwork for these.


Work with local artists to promote their goods in our retail area, ensuring all invoices, sales are processed and accounted for.

Operate tills using our EPOS systems.

Maintaining the office and its resources in a tidy and organised manner.

Working with the building manager and receptionist to cover the front desk when needed.

Take responsibility for your own safety and ensure that colleagues and visitors are not exposed to danger.


Work effectively and considerately with other employees and volunteers to promote the aims and objectives of Open Newtown and present a positive image of Open Newtown to members and the public.

Abide by the policies of Open Newtown and endeavour to always follow good working practice.

Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested by your line managers, project staff or the Directors
