We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Secretary to join our friendly team.

The postholder will be based in Newtown Hospital and will provide administrative and secretarial support to the clinical team within the North Locality.

This will involve digital transcription to include the following clinics:

  • General Medicine, Paediatrics, Respiratory, Ward discharges, General Surgery, CMATs. The postholder


The postholder also needs to be able to communicate and exchange complex, sensitive information across the organisation both internally and externally.

They must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.


To maintain a high standard of confidentiality when dealing with day-to-day enquiries and general correspondence from patients, colleagues within the Health Board and the District General Hospitals.

We are looking to recruit a highly organised individual with recent secretarial experience to join the Secretarial Administration Team. We are looking for an applicant who is proficient in a range of software programmes including Microsoft Office.

Excellent administration/secretarial skills and audio-typing experience are essential for this role, as well as a good understanding of patient relations.

You will regularly be required to deal with queries from patients, consultants and GPs.


You will be patient focused with good communication and telephone skills, able to work under own initiative as well as within a small team.
