THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive clerical, administrative and
secretarial support service. The post holder needs to work autonomously for the majority of the time but be able to seek advice when necessary. The post holder also needs to be able to communicate and exchange complex, sensitive information across the organisation both internally and externally, using tact and persuasive skills and demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
The post holder will establish strong links with colleagues across the Health
Board and with those providing services to patients both in and outside Powys.

We are seeking a Medical Secretary to transcribe clinic outcome letters from the Planned Care Consultant led clinics at Newtown Hospital. Letters are then shared and routed to various recipients across the County or neighbouring District General Hospitals and GP’s.

You must have advanced keyboard skills and able to work within a small team; working together to meet tight deadlines and turn a round times. You should have experience of using analogue and digital dictation systems by means of Audio Typing.

In addition the Audio Typing a variety of administrative functions are required so organisational and time management skills are essential.

You will be calm under pressure and able to adapt to changes in process. This post is for 15 hours, working 2 shifts of 7.5 hours on a Tuesday and Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
