In this role you will

  • Process and cryosection tissue samples from cancer patients.
  • Perform immunofluorescencebased and spatial transcriptomic based experiments on patient derived tissues.
  • Independently perform image acquisition and simple data analyses
  • Demonstrate leadership and support the broader team by providing deep imaging expertise to crossfunctional activities, including keeping up to date with the latest advances in imaging technology.
  • Independently execute and deliver data of high quality and within defined timeframes.
  • Identify and develop solutions to methodological challenges in research protocols.
  • Solve technical issues and operate as part of a crossfunctional project team.

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • PhD, or equivalent experience, in Biology, Oncology, Biosciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology or related.
  • Significant experience of cryosectioning and associated methods of sample processing for both IF and spatial transcriptomics
  • Expertise in tissue and cellbased image analysis using commercially available platforms/software.
  • Expertise in immunofluorescence and spatial transcriptomics imaging techniques.
  • A multidisciplinary mix of training/expertise in cellular biology, oncology as well as integrative data analysis.
  • A solid knowledge of cancer biology.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and clearly communicate complex biology with team members from different backgrounds, as well as senior members of the unit.
  • Track record of delivering high quality, consistent results in a timely fashion with a positive cando and result oriented attitude.
  • Evidence of effective troubleshooting and assay development ability.

Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience with Xenium spatial transcriptomic imaging.
  • Experience with FFPE sample processing, microtomebased sectioning, immunohistochemistry and H&E staining.
  • A track record of scientific publications associated with imaging technologies.
  • Expertise in cancer biology, including the molecular mechanisms underlying tumourigenesis and cancer progression.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problemsolving skills, with the ability to navigate complex scientific and business challenges.
