The new Research Tech Data and Predictive Sciences function is focussed on harnessing the power of GSK's data-as-an-asset to drive research productivity upper quartile ambitions.

As the Senior Director of the Cheminformatics (CIX) group, you will be focused on leading a team that develops, integrates and embeds advanced computational methods and predictive _in silico_ models that accelerate the discovery of medicines.

Data & Predictive Sciences will only be successful by working in close collaboration with Research Tech, TAs, GSK Tech, AIML, Vaccines, Risk & Compliance, and across lines within the function itself, and by developing and fostering a high-performing team culture of collaboration, curiosity, consistency, agility, quality, peer review, and continuous improvement with a relentless focus on enabling value realization through end-user uptake and measuring impact.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of a global team of Ph.
D. level Cheminformaticians with a wide diversity of skillsets that include cheminformatics, statistics, machine learning and molecular design.

  • Align the portfolio of scientific and programsupport activities to proactively seek out opportunities for impact of computational molecular design methodologies on drug discovery at GSK.
  • Accountable for the identification, validation and integration of emergent trends and opportunities in computational science that impact drug discovery by accelerating the pipeline through increased efficacy and reduced cycle times.
  • With MMD & Discovery Chemistry, embed and scale BRADSHAW and related methods into small molecule design standard practice. Continually improve BRADSHAW capabilities and enhance our ligandbased design approaches. Realize our aspirations for Digital Chemistry
  • Determine and embed optimal array design methodologies, hit selection and expansion methods.
  • Investigate the applicability of high throughput PBPK or other models in the early discovery space to enable our ability to design molecules that can achieve the desired dose levels.
  • Deliver global models for ADMET & safety endpoints in collaboration with Pre-Clinical Sciences
  • Partner with Tech organizations to facilitate the move to cloud, incorporate Google Big Query where possible.
