Postdoctoral research will be focused on addressing the critical R&D challenges that have been selected as cutting edge science and are optimal areas of science for post-doctoral training.

The goal of this post-doctoral role will be focused on
This project will utilise the combined microscopic power of GSK Bioimaging (Stevenage and Philadelphia), a Leica SP8 system (Stevenage) and the cutting edge RAMAN, CARS and Lightsheet capabilities at the University of Cardiff.
- Refine and industrialise label free imaging methodologies developed for cellular and tissue imaging at UIUC in support of GSK Oligo projects
- Adapt the method above for tracking mRNA distribution to support mRNA vaccines and future mRNA projects
- Further develop the cellular imaging of mAbs and other proteins in production CHO cells and tissue from clinical studies.
- Incorporate new nonfluorescent labelling and insitu hybridisation techniques to enhance our ability to track specific molecules.

The basic qualifications and any foundational experience required for this role are:
- Ph.
D. Application of Multiphoton Imaging to the detection of xenobiotics in cellular, organoid and tissue samples. (*Thesis must be submitted before starting this position)
- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific data
- Must be comfortable conversing with opinion leaders regarding highly technical information
- A selfstarter able to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Good balance of creative, analytical and strong communication skills
- Ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment

Qualifications & Skills:
Track record of working in an imaging lab
- Perform qualitative and quantitative imaging using various optical imaging systems on cells, complex in vitro models and animals or human tissue specimens using established procedures and independent judgment to determine probable causes for low
- Develop image analysis algorithms and/or use commercially available software packages to deliver imagingbased quantitative results to study teams.
Hands on experience of the following imaging methodologies (academic built or commercial)
- Raman microscopy including SRS of biologic samples
- CARS microscopy
- Lightsheet microscopy with biological samples
- Sample preparation for above methods
- Understanding of cell culture in monolayers, organoids/spheroids and 3D models.
Good understanding of commercial image analysis pipelines including
- Columbus
- Image J
- Matlab
- Ability to programme in Python, C++
Demonstrated track record of communication the above methodologies to a non-expert Scientific audience
- Poster and oral presentation at scientific conferences
- Journal Publications (first author a bonus)
