Waste:

Accountable to the Reactor Plant Engineering Area Manager for the Technical Discipline quality, integrity, capability, competency and performance of his/her Unit.

Accountable to the Reactor Plant Engineering Area Manager for the Technical Contents of all deliverables within the scope of his/her Unit.

Accountable for the management of the Radwaste Design Unit's delivery team.
Technical authority and signatory for all Radioactive waste design.

To be accountable and responsible for the delivery of all Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs) (or part thereof) which involve the management of radioactive waste(s).

Company expert and point of contact for multiple projects across the business, advising on all aspects of radioactive waste throughout the product lifecycle.

To ensure the performance of engineering activities related to the Unit technical discipline(s) in accordance with the best industry practice.

Responsible for unit resources, management, development and training.
Responsible for the quality of technical work with adherence to relevant standards and legislation, regulatory and contractual requirements.

To ensure the final quality of the set of deliverables in accordance with the efficiency objectives established for each project, the business area and company.

To provide guidance of procedures and standards which are the most applicable for the development of the development and substantiation of the design.

To identify the possible need for the acquisition of new knowledge/updates and of technical Know-How development for his/her unit.

To be capable of properly identifying requirements, scope of works and costs relevant to his/her disciplines for contract execution.

Responsible for all schedules of delivery within his/her unit's tasks / assignments.
Able to lead continuous improvement initiatives on a day-by-day basis relevant to the technical discipline(s) of the Unit.
To apply the company procedures for Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Systems and Organizational Models.
Responsible for technical contents of deliverables within the Unit in terms of D4M/D4P (design for manufacturing/design for purchase).
Maintaining safety, discipline and control of allocated staff and contractors in accordance with HR Guidelines.
Demonstrable success in similar head of design unit role on complex nuclear power plant projects. Experience of liaising with nuclear regulator(s) preferred.
Leadership and management of radioactive waste management design delivery teams.
Process engineering relating to radioactive waste structures, systems and components (SSCs)
Conscientious approach to radioactive waste management principles and design, supported with relevant design background.
Maintains an understanding of the latest technologies and innovations relating to radioactive waste management.

Languages:
English (Required): Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Clear and effective communication in English is essential for day-to-day responsibilities, team collaboration, and interactions with stakeholders across the organization.

Italian and French (Desirable): While not mandatory, a basic to intermediate level of proficiency in Italian and French is desirable for this position.

The ability to communicate in Italian and French can be advantageous, as it will facilitate effective liaison and collaboration with our French and Italian teams.

This role can be based in our Manchester or Gloucester offices, with a minimum of 3 days a week attendance in the office.

Regular business travel will be required to our offices in Turin (Italy) and Lyon (France), in order to collabor ate and build strong working relationships within our Global Engineering Team.
