The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in defining the long-term IT strategy for achieving business goals. Their understanding of the tech landscape sits alongside their stakeholder management and collaboration skills, ensuring that all functions are included in the creation of strategic solutions built with the future in mind. They drive the use of architectural thinking, providing guidelines, patterns and principles which teams can use to operate independently whilst still pointing towards common methods.

What's the job Research, innovate, and drive the definition of 3-5 year architectural visions and roadmaps for Enterprise Technologies within Kingfisher. Collaborate as part of the Domain Leadership teams with the creation and maintenance of the domain and technology roadmap, aligning them to our Group and Banner business strategy, outcomes, and values. Work in close partnerships with Solution Architects, Product Managers, and Principal Engineers to understand business vision, strategy and roadmaps and to then align roadmaps and delivery plans. Ensure sponsorship and stakeholder engagement, and drive communication of these strategies, visions, and roadmaps across the organisation. Support the articulation of business benefits and outcomes, and then the creation of business cases that bring these to life. Drive the consistent application of architecture guidelines, standards, patterns, and principles to the domain context. Support the Solution Architect and wider product, programme and project delivery team members with architectural consultation and guidance. Assess, review, and mitigate risks of the as-is architecture (compliance) and ensure these are addressed within the roadmaps. Drives compliance between domain strategies and global enterprise transformation activities and technology directions by establishing the strategies, policies and practices. What you'll bring Knowledge and understanding of the role of the Enterprise Architect and key aspects of the Enterprise Technology domain, particularly ERP strategy. Business architecture experience including strategy development and business process re-engineering. Ability to work across a matrix team environment and breakdown organisational silos. Can lead and manage strategically important projects. Takes a customer focussed and pragmatic architectural approach to business change, based on a sound understanding of the underlying approaches and processes. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders in technical subjects in a straightforward way. Able to produce consumable artefacts to engage with teams across both the Banners and Group. Experience of working with 3rd party solution providers including consultancies. Demonstrable understanding of how technical aspects of IT work with the ability to communicate and engage effectively, clearly, and concisely across all stakeholders and audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a real passion for delivering excellence.
