ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ascertain necessary technical capabilities and timelines across extensive Information Systems delivery initiatives.
  • Assume a leadership position within the client team, working alongside functional leads to formulate and implement time-sensitive organizational capability delivery increments.
  • Engage with project delivery teams to explore opportunities for new methodologies.
  • Document lessons learned and integrate feedback into future strategies.
  • Provide external support to key military and digital defense entities, ensuring alignment with broader transformation efforts.
  • Identify essential skills to maintain progress and assist in recruitment as needed.
  • Facilitate effective technical decision-making and present clear pathways for stakeholders, empowering team members and colleagues.
  • Drive enhancements in the operation of critical delivery programs to adopt an 'architecturally led' approach, leveraging System of Systems and service-oriented thinking.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with the Deployed and Tactical Military Domains, particularly in areas such as ISTAR, Communications and Information Systems (CIS), and Cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology markets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence effectively.
  • Capability to build constructive relationships with clients, adapting to their culture and operational methods.
  • Thorough understanding of Defense Digital and Military clientele, including their business processes related to Intelligence, Planning, and Targeting Cycles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize and convey technical information clearly, utilizing appropriate data visualization techniques.
  • Experience in one or more Ministry of Defence environments (Air, Land, Maritime, C4ISR).
  • Proven ability to innovate and develop strategic roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise architecture, identifying cost-saving opportunities and minimizing technical debt.
  • Knowledge of Military Communications and Information Systems (CIS) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
  • Understanding of military clientele and defense procurement processes.
  • Experience applying ITIL principles within the MoD context.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Digital Common Approach to Architecture (CAA).
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is desirable.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks, advising on mitigation strategies.
  • Broad knowledge of various enterprise-scale ICT delivery mechanisms and software technologies, including Application Hosting, Big Data, DevOps, and Virtualized Cloud Services.
  • Awareness of Safety and Security Management practices within the MoD domain.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management and baseline development throughout the lifecycle of complex programs.
