Our highly efficient HR Department are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer, reporting to the Head of Human Resources, who will join our proactive team and provide the highest level of professionalism and knowledge to our circa 300 employees.


Purpose of the job:


The processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for Helical Technology Limited and Global Energy Limited, taking ownership of the whole process end to end.

The provision of accurate and timely MI and reports in support of the Payroll function and Finance Department requirements.

Minimum requirements:

Essential

  • GCSE in English and Maths. A-C or equivalent

Desirable

  • CIPP Qualification

Experience & training:

  • Essential :
  • Must have over two years' experience of running Payroll end to end.
  • Excellent Data Entry skills
  • Excellent Excel skills including V Lookup
  • Resilient and comfortable working under pressure
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation.

Salary:
£27,000 FTE - Dependent on qualification (Up to £30,000 with CIPP Qualification)

Hours

Full time: 39 hours per week Monday - Friday

Location:
Lytham St Annes & Warton - working across 2 sites

Main responsibilities and duties:

(Additional responsibilities for Full Time Role)

  • Processing payroll for weekly and monthly for circa 300 employees over two businesses. (Payroll and HRIS system is CIVICA)
  • Calculation of weekly Time and Attendance data
  • Full end to end processing
  • Collation and input of all relevant data and information.
  • Processing new starters; leavers; benefits; contract changes; sickness absence payments; allowances; maternity; paternity and
  • To administer SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Analysis of Payroll Data
  • BACS payments
  • RTI Submissions
  • P11d's; P60's and P45's.
  • Tax Calculations; salary calculations and social security withholdings
  • Payroll reconciliations
  • NI, overtime and deductions
  • Auto Enrolment
  • Balancing accounts
  • Pension deductions
  • Addressing payroll queries quickly and support employees at every stage.
  • Resolving discrepancies.
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently with employees; the HR Department and Finance Department.
  • Handling all queries with HMRC to satisfactory conclusions.

Additional Responsibilities for full time role

  • Gender Pay Gap calculation and reports
  • Apprenticeship Levy
  • Provision of reports in support of annual pay negotiations; pay analysis and business review meetings.
  • Completion of all salary increase letters and salary increase procedures.
  • Supporting HR Department and business with CIVICA reports and projects.
