The Vacancy

Fixed Term Contract - February 23- December 23
MOLA is seeking to recruit a proactive, highly organised, collections minded Climate Heritage Project Officer.

You will work with the Community Partnerships Officer and Project Manager plus the wider MOLA support team to deliver the development phase of _Coasts in Mind_, a Heritage Fund proposal for a 3-year community led indicators of climate change project through community donated photographs, postcards and oral histories.

You will develop a picture of the available evidence for a 'people's record of coastal change' within the Hampshire/Dorset, Kent, Merseyside or Somerset/Devon regions over the course of the development phase and develop the foundations of a digital mapping and recording approach.


What does the role involve?


On a day-to-day basis you will be directly working with local archives, museums, and historical/archaeology societies to map relevant collections and records of coastal change held by the public in each of the four regions.

You will collaborate with Dig Ventures to develop a pilot mapping portal and methodology co-designed in an accessible way with wider public stakeholders, policy makers and target audiences.

These findings and pilot activities will support the submission of a full 3 year Heritage Fund bid for a delivery phase.


You'll have excellent communication skills and an eye for identifying the critical path to delivery for a range of professional project outputs, as well as for documentation to be included in the final Heritage Fund 3 year project bid.
