About Climate X

Climate X is a pioneering climate adaptation data company dedicated to revolutionizing how the world manages assets, property, and infrastructure. Our mission is to apply cutting-edge, peer-reviewed science to prevent the worst impacts of climate change.

Our Approach

We combine climate projections, remote sensing observations, and modeling to project the frequency and severity of physical climate risks such as floods, subsidence, storms, etc. Our SaaS platform empowers financial institutions and real estate firms to:

  1. Identify potential damage to property and assets from severe weather events
  2. Assess the impact of climate-related damage on asset valuations
  3. Make informed decisions to become more resilient to climate change
Our Team

We're an interdisciplinary team of Data Scientists, Climate Scientists, and Geospatial experts collaborating closely with our Engineering and Product teams to deliver impactful products to our clients. As a Data Scientist at Climate X, you'll be part of a dynamic team driving innovation and problem-solving to address the most significant challenge our society faces.

Essential Skills

We're looking for individuals with:

  1. Commercial Data Science experience, strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, and proficiency in Python (e.g., sklearn, spaCy, NumPy, SciPy)
  2. Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI)
Nice to Have

We also value experience with:

  1. Web scraping using Python (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, Requests)
  2. Knowledge of the financial services or real estate domain from a climate risk perspective
  3. Processing and analyzing geospatial data using Python (geopandas, GDAL, etc.) and/or other GIS software (e.g., QGIS)
