It provides air traffic control services from two control centres supporting airports all around the UK, as well as a wide range of commercial solutions to over 30 countries internationally. Job Purpose:
You will manage a support service team for technical services. Working with customers and stakeholders to provide agreed services. To create, change and improve processes, leading continuous service improvement (CSI) activities, ensuring the support services processes increase operational efficiency, deliver measurable benefits to the business and significantly reduce our cost base in support of our operation.

You will establish clear operational level agreements and ensure consistency of service. Whilst seeking improvements to delivery methods for best business outcomes.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of understanding business strategy and ability to direct a team to align with that strategy
  • Strategic thinking with process improvement focus
  • Demonstrable ability to influence at all levels of the organisation to enable the delivery of this service
  • A strong people leader with proven experience in leading and effectively managing teams to produce high quality outputs within the constraints of demanding timescales and a tactical environment. Must demonstrate the ability to achieve through the efforts of their people and lead their people in the delivery of exceptional business results
  • The individual will be an excellent people leader with highly effective influencing skills
  • Must be able to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences but understand the importance of listening and seeking feedback
  • Excellent networking skills to establish key contacts around the organisation, valuing them and using them effectively to foster enduring relationships
  • Demonstrable ability to work in an evolving business with plans that can change
  • Resilient and tenacious, with a propensity to persevere, and adaptable with the ability to handle potentially challenging customers
  • Effectively balance conflicting issues such as short term versus long term priorities, resource constraints, stakeholder expectations and staff development, whilst continuing to operate within an approved budget
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant professional experience
