Providing first class care to patients is our priority, and you'll be responsible for more than just getting patients to and from their hospital appointments, as we are committed to the people 1st approach of providing excellent

communication.


Role Responsibilities:

  • You will provide a professional and caring service to all patients
  • Providing the highest standards of clinical and personal care within the interhospital and prehospital environment
  • Responding to operational requirements in a safe and efficient way as directed by the Control Room staffr and any other authorised manager
  • Driving all types of approved Ambulance Service vehicles under normal conditions in accordance with road traffic law
  • Ensuring safe transfer of patients to and from the vehicles, considering the safety of the patient, self, and colleagues. Using the most appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques
  • Providing accurate and legible completion of all relevant documents including vehicle and equipment log sheets
  • Able to organise and manage complex incidents
  • Utilise relevant information to assist patients, patient advocates or carers to make informed health choices in line with national guidance
  • Working with experienced team members to help you settle in quickly
  • Learn how to use the ambulance equipment to take our patients safely to and from their appointments
  • Maintain the ambulance and equipment as required
  • Take pride in supporting our patients and our community

Role Requirements

  • Have at least
    2 years driving experience and no more than 3 points on your licence (for insurance purposes)
  • Physical fitness is important in this role as there is sometimes a requirement to reach inaccessible patients in a hurry (lots of stairs), manual handling and CPR
  • Have a warm and caring personality with the ability to connect with people.
  • This is a fulltime position, working an average of 40 hours per week. You need to be flexible as we run a 24/7 service to support the NHS, this includes days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Lastly, you will have quality references covering the last three years of employment history and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
