We’lllook to you to lead your team to maintain effective oversight andgovernance of RBSI financial crime risk frameworks, systems, andcontrols. You’ll direct, monitor and review the delivery andreceipt of services into RBSI while overseeing the adherence to ourfinancial crimestandards.

You’ll provideexpert guidance and direction to the business in the application ofeffective risk and control frameworks and consideration offinancial crime risk in decision making. As well as overseeing thedevelopment and implementation of financial crime risk and controlmechanisms for the business within agreed risk appetites, you’llmake sure that all first line of defence local regulatoryrequirements are delivered infull.

You’llalso:

  • Make surethat the business addresses financial crime risk concerns withinthe management of our customer, geographic, and product portfoliolife-cycle and undertake the robust remediation of knownrisks
  • Work collaboratively with other businessunits and functional leadership teams with regards to effective AMLrisk management
  • Be responsible for the deliveryof Operational Tax activity including material appetite decisionsfor RBSI on Anti-Tax Evasion, oversight of approval into taxauthorities, and across all jurisdictions
  • Drivethe management of financial crime risk to meet our conduct riskappetite and the expectations of ourregulators
  • Keep informed of the changingregulatory environment, and assess and communicate its impact tointernalstakeholders

Theskills you'llneed

We’relooking for someone educated to degree level, preferably with apost graduate qualification. You’ll have relevant technicalqualifications in AML, anti-bribery and corruption, or STFcompliance, and a deep understanding of the financial serviceindustry.

You’ll alsoneed:

  • A robust andbroad understanding of risk management principles, regulatoryframeworks, and AML or sanctionscompliance
  • Technicalexpertise of relevant political and legislative developments acrossthe financial industry, with the ability to guide and influencebusiness representatives on related matters
  • Theability to deliver oversight activity which can serve as indelibleevidence to regulators that conduct risks have been identifiedwithin targeted processes
  • Experience ofdeveloping high performing teams, with strong coaching andmentoring skills
  • The ability to collaborateacross boundaries and build solid relationships, both internallyand externally
  • Experience of deliveringsustainable performance and driving operational excellence whilecommitting to the appropriate level of supervision and control tomanage risk
