**Job summary**:
The Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) is a 3* led HQ, based at Northwood leading and running overseas operations, and consists of approx. 400 staff; a mix of military and Civil Servants. The Command Support Group within PJHQ is responsible, on behalf of the Chief of Joint Operations and the Defence Commitments Management Organisation, for supporting the Command Group, their outer offices and the wider HQ to conduct their critical business.

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal, organisational and collaborative skills to join our motivated and upbeat team The Command Plans function in CSG supports Chief of Joint Operations (CJO) through management of HQ Standard Operating Procedures, Performance reporting, development of CJO’s Command Plan and Command Boards, Resilience and Business Continuity. Providing support to CSG SO1 Plans, you will be required to engage effectively with multiple partners across different grades in both PJHQ and across external organisations. The applicant needs to be a well organised, self-motivated individual who has the ability to prioritise and manage a full workload whilst balancing business needs.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Responsibilities include:

- Undertake day to day responsibility for PJHQ Resilience and Business Continuity, interfacing with HQ StratCom and HQ NWD, ensuring the Business Continuity Plan is regularly exercised. Offer advice and guidance to PJHQ Divisions, including SJFHQ, on all aspects of Resilience and Business Continuity.
- Undertake learning and development and upskilling as required.
- Act as the PJHQ focal point for contractor liaison and major HQ change requests.
- Act as budget manager for CSG, completing monthly reconciliations, tracking expenditure, compiling AP0 return and ad-hoc financial tasks.
- Act as Safety, Health & Environmental and Fire (SHEF) lead for the HQ.
- Support SO1 Plans in the delivery of PJHQ Gp Governance, including the delivery of: quarterly Command Boards and the PJHQ Command Plan.
- Support SO1 Plans in the management and delivery of Performance management to the Top Level Budget Command organisation, through established Performance Reporting channels.
- Additional tasks as directed by SO1 Plans to support wider CSG work.

**Person specification**:
**Essential**: PJHQ and the CSG are dynamic and exciting places to work. Applicants should hold SC level of clearance or be willing to undergo the process to attain SC clearance. Recruitment into the role and continuation in the post is dependent upon successfully obtaining this level of clearance.

The applicant should be able to analyse evidence quickly and accurately and communicate clearly and effectively. Being adept at building and maintaining strong relationships across the HQ is critical as the applicant will be engaging across all Divisions of the HQ and to outside agencies.

**Desirable**: Plans writing, Business Continuity and Resilience, Experience working with the military.
